Jim retired in
1996 for the first time (but has
since continued his business and
winery careers simultaneously)
to begin fulfilling his dream of
making wine. In 2000, he planted
5 acres of vineyard on the
eastern slope boundary of Veramar and in May of 2001 the,
1,800 square foot Tuscany-style
winery opened its doors to
visitors. Soon after, Justin
joined his father and together
the father-son team has set out
to produce premium, handcrafted
wines made from the best grapes
in the Virginia Shenandoah
Valley. |

"In my opinion, wine should
be made, with a sense of
tradition and an authentic
connection to the land."

Favorite wine is the 05 Cab
